Dr David Paton was a famous eye doctor in America. He knew that more than 60 percent of blind people are in poor countries. It is important to train eye doctors and nurses in these poor countries to cure their patients. So in the mid-1970s, he set up ORBIS. United Airlines(联合航空公司)donated a DC-8 plane to ORBIS.
